Just a quick note to update. 3 weeks ago I stepped on a yellow-jacket nest and was stung about 40 times, and while Richard and I were scurrying into the house, I tripped and broke my arm. It's my left arm and I'm right handed. I had to wait a week to have my surgery, which went well. I am now the proud owner of 1 titanium plate and 8 screws. I've been reading and looking at the progress and finish pictures on blogs and message boards; but, not commenting. Hard to type one handed. WHEN WILL I EVER STITCH AGAIN? Yes, I was shouting.

Can you believe it?
It has been 3 months since the last post. During that time I have been in the hospital 3 times. The last time was for 2 weeks in one hosp. then transfered to another for a week for a procedure that hopefully has taken care of my bleeding problem. I am slowly getting my strength back; so, look out world here I come again.
I haven't stitched a thing all year! I hope that I will get back in the groove again soon. If I don't start stitching soon, I won't have enough time to stitch my way through my stash. LOL
Speaking of stash, I hope that someone can tell me, when I am concerned about stitching my stash, why oh why do I order more????? Not only that, I think this stuff breeds on its own. That's the only explanation for my not recognizing some of this stash. Like, when did I buy that? For what project was this linen purchased? And then there is the huge bag of unsorted DMC that was bought at a couple Walmart stores when they were discontinuing DMC. It was on sale, wasn't it?

Long time,no post
I know I promised to be around more; but, health issues have popped up again. I have severe iron deficiency anemia and my hemoglobin had slid way down. I was admitted to the hospital and given 4 units of blood again. Monday I am going as an outpatient for an IV infusion of iron. Looks like I will be having several of these. Yipee! (said with much sarcasm).
My DH is attempting to get our garden planted. The rain isn't helping us at all, it is helping those whose garden and crops are in already. We'll get everything planted soon, though. We are enlarging the garden and he has it all tilled, it just keeps raining. I want more green beans and more tomatoes, and oh, some beets, more cukes so I can make some pickles, and some more hot peppers to can. Our blackberries have tons of blossoms, so I am dreaming of blackberry pie and jam. The red rasberries aren't doing nearly as well. The blueberries are looking rather pitiful as far as blossoms go. Perhaps next year we will have a bumper crop.
I got a new laptop, a Toshiba, and can't get the new router (Netgear) and the desktop computer to play nice, so that I can use the laptop on the internet. I got it 3 days ago and I don't have that much patience left! Maybe tomorrow is the day to take it back. We'll see.
Back to stitching: Awhile ago I started on the Alphabet (something) by Carriage House Samplings and I was interupted by illness, so I am still on the A block. Maybe I will feel like stitching on it tomorrow. Wish me luck on that.

Hello out there!

Hello and hope you are having a fine day today. If you might be wondering where I've been, I'll play a bit of catch up. I have heart failure which can cause a lot of problems. I had a right heart catheterization in Sept and evidently the right leg artery, that they used, leaked or was nicked and I had a drop in my blood count as well as a huge hematoma that developed from my thigh down to my ankle. Because of that, and anemia my blood counts were extremely low and over Oct. and part of Nov. I had 7 units of blood transfusions. Tests proved the anemia was due to Iron deficiency so, I had a 6 hour iron IV infusion in Nov., just before Thanksgiving. Due to the heart failure and some of the symptoms, I felt lousy or terrible most of Dec. and Jan. My doctor and I decided a need to change cardiologists for a different slant on my sypmtoms. I went to the new cardiologist and he wanted to admit immediately. We did that ,he started new meds IV, and 12 days later I was ready for discharge. Now I'm home and feeling better and stronger each day. Went to see him yesterday and he said that things are going along well. Sorry about the long note about my health and I hope to not have any more episodes that interupt my blogging or stitching. And I hope to not have any major health issues or episodes that I think I have to explain. On to more interesting subjects.
Here is a picture of a finish that I had in Nov. or Dec. 08, and is a design from Midnight Stitching. As I said before, I have not been stitching for several months; but, I been digging through my WIPs and charts trying to decide which ones to concentrate on.
Hope you enjoy the picture and I will be posting again soon.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!
New Year's Day is approaching. Are you considering new resolutions? I'm thinking of a few stitching resolutions or a slight stitching schedule. Last year I had a very tight schedule and didn't stick to any of it, so this year will be much less rigid and fewer "must do" items. I don't do well when things are too regimented; because, stitching isn't fun anymore. This year will be more fun and stitching time will be something to look forward to.

The air is nippy
Well, it's even cold out there. Yesterday, trying to get into the car to go for some Outpatient lab work, I almost was blown off my feet! Strong winds and cold-yuck.
It's been awhile since I posted and will will probably be awhile between posts for a time. My health saga continues and I'm tired of this. Tests of many kinds have shown some major issues and are still being sorted out. Still have a hematoma in my right leg, only bigger and extended into new area now, due to Coumadin problems.
Severe pain. Cat scan of back shows major problems in all 5 Lumbar vertebra and the Sacral area. Old compression fractures, new and acute compression fractures, slipped disc, herniated disc, spinal stenosis with nerveroot impingement.
Can't concentrate to stitch or read and you don't want my commentary on daytime television for which we pay money. The postman is the highlight of my day, whenever someone retrieves the mail for me.
See you again and hopefully with some type of upbeat update.
